Director of Center for Research in Applied LinguisticsIrshat Madyarov received his MA in TESOL at West Virginia University, WV and his Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition and Instructional Technology at University of South Florida (USF), FL. He has taught English as a second and foreign language, and applied linguistics courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in the US. He has been a coordinator of Computer-assisted Language Learning and Academic English Curriculum at the English Language Institute, USF, as well as a number of distance courses and projects at the Baha’i Institute of Higher Education, Iran. He has presented and published internationally. His interests include digital technologies in TESOL, language assessment, teacher education, bilingual preschool education, and brain studies. Anna Avetisyan graduated from Yerevan State University, Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology Department of Translation studies in 2014. She completed her graduate studies and received her MA in TEFL in 2017 from AUA. She has been working at AUA as an EEC and Sprout program operations coordinator since 2017. Besides, she is also an EFL instructor at EEC. Her major interests are teaching English through interactive and innovative methods. In her teaching she applies communicative methods and tries to make the lessons enjoyable through innovative and engaging activities. In 2017, she participated in a research conference held by TESOL Arabia in Dubai, where she presented her book “English around Kitchen”. In 2017 her Book was published at LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing house in Germany.

Mariam Khachatryan graduated from YSLU after V. Brusov in 2012. She received her MA in TEFL in 2014 from AUA. Currently she is an EFL Instructor. She is teaching in 3 different programs of the Center for Research in Applied Linguistics of AUA: EEC, Sprout- Preschool English Program, Gevorkian Theological Seminary. She has conducted research on methodologies of teaching young learners, and on academic dishonesty, in particular the unethical purchase of academic papers in public universities of Armenia.
Mariam has participated in Academic Conferences and Scholarship Programs in Yerevan, Jerusalem, Munich, Athens, and other places. She has published 2 articles in international academic journals within the framework of the conferences. She is interested in CBI (Content Based Instruction), namely, in teaching English through music, songs, art and environmental science. She loves hiking and going to pilgrimages.
